The new junior / senior high school was designed as a building addition connected to an existing elementary school on the same site. With the ability to separate the elementary students from the older students, the combined K through 12 facility allowed the small, rural district to reduce construction costs by sharing resources between the schools.  The shared art room, music suite, stage and kitchen are located between the elementary and the high school for convenient access by both student bodies.  The existing kitchen was renovated and serves the elementary cafeteria as well as a new high school cafeteria.
