Description

The new junior / senior high school was designed as a connected addition to an existing elementary school on the same site.  The combined kindergarten through twelfth grade facility allowed the small, rural district to reduce construction costs by sharing resources between the schools.  The shared art room, music suite, stage and kitchen are located between the elementary and the high school for convenient access by both student bodies.  The existing kitchen was renovated and serves the elementary cafeteria as well as a new high school cafeteria.

The prominent architectural feature of the building is a curved masonry wall in front of the building which visually connects the schools, creating an outdoor dining area and supporting the main entrance canopy.
